Student Leadership

Students, with the Principal’s and Staff endorsement, elect two students to be School Captains for the school year from the year 6 group. In House groups, students also elect House Captains to lead their respective team – either Goulburn (green) or Waranga (red).

Our Student Leaders are expected to set examples to other students in terms of their dress, attitude and behaviour at all times. All grade 6 students will have the opportunity to attend the Leadership Conference held in Melbourne early in the year. All grade 5 students will attend a Leadership Conference held at MPS.

All year 6 students have the opportunity to become members of the Student Leadership Team during the year as they display the attributes of leaders. At MPS we nurture and develop these skills by providing all year 6 students the opportunity to participate in Leadership Training days and activities throughout their time at school. Our Student Leaders are expected to set examples to other students in terms of their dress, attitude and behaviour at all times. It is an expectation that Student Leaders will run assembly, represent the school in the community, assist and organise events within the school and provide feedback to staff.
